Blow The Whistle – Underrepresented Women in Sports, is a 501c3 nonprofit organization founded in 2022 committed to benefiting women of color in sports. Blow The Whistle recognizes that a hands-on approach is one of the most effective ways to learn and grow your network in sports, however those opportunities are often unpaid volunteer status and/or internships that expose the wage disparity in sports. With sports being such an in-demand field, the compensation is often unlivable, especially in today’s economy. Women who are from underrepresented demographics have many more hurdles to jump in building their resume. Blow The Whistle is committed to helping these women continue to trailblaze and sit their chairs at the tables they so rightfully deserve to be seated at.
“Rome was not built in a day” and neither is the integration of more women of color in the sports industry. It takes people of all backgrounds believing in us for us to take the throne in our rightful positions, trailblazers. Regardless of race, gender identity, sexual preference, socioeconomic status, education, etc. if you support women of color having more opportunities in sport, being valued for their work in sports, and having the resources to pursue their dreams in sports without assimilation or incentives - you are welcome at Blow The Whistle. There is no playbook for trailblazers, people have not walked there before. With collaboration and heart, we will open all the roads.
You identify as a woman of color and are passionate about breaking barriers and making a difference in the sports industry.
You are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate program.
You have maintained a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the last two semesters.
You have secured a volunteer or internship opportunity in sports that has the potential to benefit your future career. However, this opportunity does not cover basic expenses such as travel and housing.

We understand that the path to a career in sports is not always straightforward. If you are a woman of color who has already graduated within the past 3 years, maintained a GPA of 3.0 or higher throughout your collegiate career, and still require assistance, we encourage you to reach out to us.
